Snackmasters lifted the bun on the Hungry Jack's Angry Whopper on Monday night.
The reality TV cooking show, which pitted two chefs against each other to recreate the burger from scratch, disclosed plenty of trade secrets during the course of the competition.
Everything from the exact fat content of the burger patties to the spice that makes 'angry' onions so angry was revealed.

Pasta chef Mitch Orr and pastry chef Anna Polyviou were challenged to perfectly replicate the fast food burger in the Channel 9 reality TV series.
But while Anna went with lean beef containing only 15 precent fat content, Hungry Jack's revealed their mince actually contains 23 percent fat.

Another key ingredient in the burger were the 'angry'' onions, so-called because of their intense spice level.
Neither chef was told exactly how to achieve the necessary heat, and were instead left to essentially reverse-engineer the key ingredient.
Mitch got it right by adding cayenne pepper, while Anna missed the mark with dried jalapeños ground to a powder in a coffee grinder.

The Pilu Freshwater employee made another grave error by adding eggs and butter to his burger buns, which Hungry Jack's do not.
But despite their missteps, the authenticity of the duo's burgers managed to even impress Hungry Jack's founder Jack Cowin, who was one of the competition's judges.

Orr managed to correctly guess cayenne pepper was the secret ingredient in the onions.
They also had to prepare five serves of thick cut fries.

However, while Anna went with dried jalapeños, her buns were made exactly the same egg-free way that the burger chain buys their bread.
Mitch did make a cardinal error right at the final stage of preparation, by failing to add his pre-sliced tomatoes.

But at the end of the day, Mitch's authentic flavours saved him, and he was awarded the top prize in the form of the Snackmasters gold trophy.
