This year the participation of women in the Olympics is around 50%. On the other hand two males are able to fight women in boxing. It’s easy to determine the sex of a person with a saliva swab for a DNA test. This is incredibly unfair and dangerous. Men can punch 160% harder than women and women have thinner skulls. This is not sex equality. https://lnkd.in/dVF4s9ht

Clarifying Some Basics on Gender and SexSex: The biological classification of individuals as male, female, or intersex, typically assigned at birth.Gender: A person’s individual experience or sense of gender, which can be male, female, or any of the diverse identities beyond the binary. Today, there are recognized 72 genders!Imane Khelif's Case: Disqualified in 2023 due to a gender test, then qualified for the Paris Olympics 2024, only to face harsh judgment on social media. Consider the emotional turmoil an athlete in such a position must endure. It is disheartening to see such cases repeatedly. Can we find a better way to handle this? In 2006, India’s Santhi Soundarajan was stripped of her silver medal in the Asian Games, impacting her life permanently. She said this to one of her interviewers:"I grew up a normal girl wearing salwar kameez, skirt and a bindi [a decorative mark worn on the middle of the forehead by Indian women], long hair, flowers in my hair, bangles etc. After the Asian Games I thought, by dressing like a man, there would be greater acceptance. I don't want anyone to control me. I changed the way I dress also because of the way society saw me. When I dressed like a girl, people looked at me oddly. The transformation wasn't easy. When I dress as a man, they don't see me differently. I am accepted."Eighteen years later, are we still here? Haven't we evolved? Sadly, no. Imane Khelif is the latest victim of our stagnation on these issues.#GenderEquality #Inclusion #Diversity #LGBTQ #ImaneKhelif #SanthiSoundarajan #ParisOlympics2024 #SocialJustice #HumanRights #EndDiscrimination Kelp (formerly KelpHR)https://lnkd.in/d5vcbRFs https://lnkd.in/dxVRqcJT

The real unequal equal or constitutional equality or in vogue, that gender is a matter of perception and a flued concept as stated by leading jurist under right to privacy include self identification right also, and more depend upon, what one believes in onself then what other thinks or said to called forced identity (some even going that, my clothes cannot be identity of my gender). The real difficulties arise, when we have real examples, and challenges of how to address them because it goes against our own glorified new sexuality concept belie ordinary understanding. There is another aspect, whether chromosomal identity should determine the gender of individual or morphological identity because even in this there are transgender identity, which does not fall into any of these two. secondly whether chromosomal identity equivalent biological identity is enough to determine this, as parallel being the hormonal identity, one may be Testosterone hyper presence despite being biological women but there can be reverse also. Where should we fit these. Then their is another sexual orientation identity, again distinct from concept of gender.Despite this, can we still make a gender less participation in games like shooting, gymnastics which are more of skill then mix of power with skill. Atleast such events prove, theory is different from actual reality, atleast ones endeavor to apply in absolute.

Limited research that is available on #DSD and the continuing change in parameters of gender eligibility in different countries and different events are a testament to the fact that more extensive work needs to be done in the space of #sports and #gender research before we go out and make uninformed comments on people's bodies, lives and identities who are a part of the sporting fraternity. What has happened with Imane Khalif is one in a series of many cases that inflict repeated sex and gender tests on athletes that do not fit into the hom*ogenised definitions of what comprises a 'woman' and a 'female'.Apart from gender issues, I also have a cultural theory on this...and I leave this up for discussion:◀️Don't we also need to look at this from a #race angle, even a demographic angle? We know for a fact that the culture, food habits, #genetic evolution and mutation and multiple other forms of acquired and accepted biological and social traits influence the way a person's sex and gender identity reveal themselves. ◀️Is this #demonisation similar to what European dominating cultures did to non-European cultures for having physical dissimilarities? Or how Indo Aryans demonized the Dravidians because they had different physical features. This may not just be a gender rights issue!◀️ Is it an issue of hom*ogenization of a sex and gender to suit the dominant narratives of what it is to be a woman solely often negatiing inclusive identities from different races and communities?#foodforthought #intersectionality Subhojit Bakshi (He / Him) , Shiwani Agrawal

Pot calling the Kettle Black.Different sporting bodies have different testing standards. Some of these standards are confidential. Where there is no transparency, there can be no objectivity. Where there is no objectivity, existence of fairness has to be prima facie questioned. IOC's chief wants everyone to accept someone as a woman that's born as one, raised as one, and who self-declares them as one. How does IOC expect people to know the family and backstory of every sportsperson with DSD (Differences of Sex Development)? How does IOC expect passport authorities to verify the sex of a citizen, while issuing a passport? When a majority of the people follow the idea of 'seeing is believing', and on top of that IOC wants everyone to believe someone is a woman on the basis of a subjective, and therefore flawed method, then it is IOC that is actually engaging in an unscientific endeavor, and therefore politics, by asking the majority to change its views on what is satisfactory as per IOC's subjectivity. When the testing standards are kept confidential by IOC, which makes Imane Khelif's classification as woman, something subjective in quality, and therefore prima facie questionable, it is pretty rich of the IOC to say other's reactions are politically motivated. To retain its pole position in sports, IOC, must come out with a scientifically established objective criteria.#objectivityrules #thefairnessprinciple #transparency#Ghorkalyug

A third category of sports for humans is not a win for civilization & it is not a compromise. It is the goal. There is no third sex, or a “no sex” category of humanity. The goal of gender ideology is to create one to which special rights are given. This clears a path for augmented humanity and rights for people to be augmented at an entirely new level than is currently allowed. This is the point.#StayHuman@11thBlog

While I understand the concern some have around those with higher than "normal" levels of testosterone competing in women's sport, the absolute pile on and spread of misinformation about Imane Khelif today has been astounding.Khelif is NOT transgender. The IOC confirmed this. Instead, she has a rare DSD (differences in sex development) condition. These differences can exist at birth (such as if you are intersex) or they can arise as a result of how you naturally respond to sex hormones during puberty. The misreporting in the mainstream media is shocking and the willingness of people to use a(n inaccurate) story to spread hate about a minority community is so disheartening.Yes, there is a discussion that could be had about how those with DSD can be involved in competitive sports and whether the traditional men and women's categories need to be reconsidered, given that there are natural variations like intersex and hermaphrodites. Yes, higher than "normal" testosterone levels can help you build muscle and increase strength which could give a competitive advantage, but a quick metabolism can help you build muscle too and I don't see anyone talking about excluding those with that particular natural competitive advantage. I am all for a debate on the actual issue but how about we leave the trans community out of this one.https://lnkd.in/eDfHn3cC
